>> SIFT Professor Goes on a Lecture Tour in Slovenia and Italy

rofessor Zhao Hongjun, Vice Dean of SIFT School of International Business, was invited to deliver two lectures during his stay at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia on 24-26 October. One lecture titled “Chinese Economy: From Closed to Open” was given to undergraduates; the other titled “Climate Change and Social Instability: Empirical Evidence from Chinese Economic History” was given to teachers and students of Ph.D. program.


At the joint invitation of the Slovenian Educational Consortium (Slov. I. K.) and the University of Trieste, Professor Zhao went to Trieste, Italy, on 25 October to deliver a lecture entitled “Chinese Economy, Culture and Environment: How a Good Governance Works” to Italian bankers, business leaders and the general public. In the lecture, Professor Zhao gave an account of the fast economic growth in China during the past three decades, analyzing the causes of China’s growth and predicting its economic outlook.
